Uzbekistan has decided to completely ban the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) due to energy supply problems within the country, Sardor Umurzakov, head of the presidential administration of Uzbekistan, said, according to the Kun.uz portal. He held a meeting on the energy supply of the country.
The Uzbek authorities will decide to ban the export of LNG to all producers and traders. At the same time, LNG will be supplied to the population when it is not impossible to supply compressed gas, the Uzbek media report.
In addition, the country's authorities plan to increase the import of gasoline, as well as raw materials for it and diesel fuel, suspend the collection of excise tax on the import of AI-80 gasoline and the excise tax on its retail sale for 2 months, increase the daily volume of sales of AI-80 gasoline on the stock exchange.
It is expected that now intermediary companies will not be able to take part in exchange trading with AI-80 gasoline.
Over the past week, Uzbekistan has seen a sharp increase in energy consumption, which is why cars in the capital Tashkent cannot fill up with gas, and the population of the city is experiencing a lack of gas in their homes.
