Representatives of defense industry enterprises from Uzbekistan and India discussed joint projects and bilateral cooperation at a Uzbek-Indian seminar in Tashkent, Gazeta.uz reports.

Among the seminar participants from India were representatives from Zen Technologies, TATA Advanced Systems, Bharat Dynamics, Apollo Micro Systems, L&T Defence, Bharat Forge, and Karman Drones Private.

"The participants of the event discussed promising directions for strengthening relations and new joint projects," the statement on the Uzbekistan Ministry of Defense website said.

In February 2023, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued a decree to establish the Defense Industry Agency under the Ministry of Defense and the state unitary enterprise "Uztechtrade" based on the State Committee for Defense Industry.

Over the past five years, Uzbekistan's defense industry enterprises have started producing local light armored vehicles, drones, night vision devices, and various combat modules.
