Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Consular Department of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs held talks in Beijing, the portal Dunyo reports.
A wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the consular and legal sphere were discussed with Xie Yancun, Deputy Director of the Consular Department of China’s Foreign Ministry.
The negotiations covered topics such as China's visa policy, the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of both countries, and the expansion of the legal and regulatory framework between Uzbekistan and China.
The Chinese side was provided with detailed information about the favorable conditions created by the government of Uzbekistan for the development of tourism, entrepreneurship, and business, as well as for foreign investors, along with reforms implemented in these areas.
It was noted that citizens of 91 foreign countries can enter Uzbekistan visa-free, and since March 1, 2021, Chinese citizens have been able to use a visa-free stay system in Uzbekistan for up to 10 days.
Conversely, citizens of Uzbekistan can visit a number of countries without a visa, with simplified visa procedures available in some of them.
It was also emphasized that the Uzbek side is interested in visa concessions for its citizens traveling to China.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation to further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries in the consular and legal sphere.
