Uzbekistan, China to boost cooperation

The growth in bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and China, which exceeded $7.4 billion in 2021, reached $6.8 billion in the January-September period of time this year, UzA reports.

This was noted during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister. Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director General and Board Member of the China National Chemical Engineering Corporation Wen Gang. The prospects for expanding partnership with a Chinese corporation were discussed.

Both countries have created favorable conditions for the implementation of production and export activities. The parties emphasized the dynamic nature of the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of investment and attraction of modern technologies..

The implementation of projects in the oil and gas, chemical industries, production of building materials, pharmaceuticals, the agricultural sector, light industry contributes to the acceleration of technological modernization and diversification of the economy of Uzbekistan.

The prospects for the participation of the corporation in the implementation of joint projects in such areas as "green" energy, transport, and infrastructure development were considered.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in the implementation of current agreements and the development of new areas of partnership.
