Uzbekistan has rapidly become one of the main engines of integration within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), according to an analytical article published by the Saudi newspaper Al Harir (https://www.alharirnews.com).
Since President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s first participation in the OTS summit in 2018, Uzbekistan has been actively shaping the organization’s economic agenda, putting forward concrete initiatives in trade, investment, transport, and digitalization, the article notes.
“The past OTS summits have shown that many of Uzbekistan’s proposals have already moved from the declarative stage to practical implementation,” Al Harir emphasizes.
Among the key initiatives already underway, the newspaper highlights the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund, the digitalization of trade and transport procedures, and the institutionalization of financial dialogue through the Council of Central Banks of member states.
According to Al Harir, Uzbekistan’s proposals to create an OTS Development Bank, launch “green corridors”, develop digital trade platforms, and organize annual economic forums have laid a solid foundation for systematic economic integration within the organization and set a long-term trajectory for its development.
Experts cited by the publication stress that Uzbekistan’s proactive stance has strengthened its position as a center of economic initiatives in the Turkic world, while also enhancing its international standing as a reliable and forward-looking regional player.
