Uzbekistan Explores Expanded Partnership with U.S. Export-Import Bank

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his working visit to Washington, met with John Jovanovich on November 6, head of the U.S. Export-Import Bank (Exim Bank), the Uzbek presidential press service reported.

Exim Bank serves as the official export-credit agency of the U.S. government, supporting American companies’ international trade through insurance, guarantees, and financing tools. The meeting focused on expanding cooperation with Exim Bank to finance major projects in energy, critical minerals, transportation, agriculture, IT, and other priority sectors under a jointly prepared program.

Special attention was given to Exim Bank’s role in modernizing Uzbekistan’s national fleet and supplying Boeing aircraft. The parties agreed to continue practical collaboration and to develop a long-term partnership plan.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a Financing Agreement on joint projects between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade and the U.S. Exim Bank, witnessed by President Mirziyoyev.
