The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided that the Uzbek football club "Bunyodkor" owes former players Rivaldo and Denilson 9.5 million euros and must repay this debt, Tribuna.uz reports.
In the decision made on February 22, FIFA determined that FC "Bunyodkor" owes 8.1 million euros to Rivaldo and 1.1 million euros to the other Brazilian football player, Denilson. This decision was forwarded to the Uzbekistan Football Association.
"Bunyodkor" has been found guilty of not fully complying with the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber's decision of September 21, 2017. This was fully confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on November 6, 2023.
The club "Bunyodkor" is required to pay this amount within 30 days. Otherwise, FIFA may impose sanctions against the club.
Rivaldo played for the football club "Bunyodkor" from 2008 to 2010 and was a three-time champion of Uzbekistan. Denilson became the champion in 2010 with "Bunyodkor," scoring 4 goals in 14 matches in the Uzbekistan Pro League and 5 goals in 6 matches in the AFC Champions League.
The financial dispute between "Bunyodkor" and the Brazilian players has been ongoing since 2010.
