Uzbekistan intends to dramatically increase passenger car production as part of its updated "Uzbekistan 2030" strategy. According to The Gulf Observer, the country plans to increase annual production to almost one million vehicles by 2030, Kun.uz reports.

Significant growth has already been observed in 2025: 419,338 cars were produced from January to November—more than the entire 2024 production total (399,327). Average monthly production exceeded 38,000 units.

The strategy calls for a gradual increase:
— 460,000 vehicles in 2026,
— 550,000 in 2027,
— 700,000 in 2028,
— over 800,000 in 2029,
— and almost 1 million by 2030.

UzAuto Motors remains the leader, but China's BYD is showing the greatest growth: from 2,198 vehicles in the first 11 months of 2024 to 17,510 in 2025. Kia, Chery, and Haval are also expanding production, confirming Uzbekistan's emergence as one of the key auto manufacturing hubs in Central Asia.
