Thanks to exploration work, explored gas reserves are replenished, as a result, they will last for many years, Khusniddin Turaev, head of the investment department at Uzbekneftegaz, said, Ritmeurasia reports.
"Currently, the approved natural gas reserves in Uzbekistan amount to about 2 trillion cubic meters of gas. Based on the fact that we produce about 50 billion cubic meters of gas annually, then mathematically it can be calculated that this volume will be enough for 40 years," Podrobno.uz quotes the specialist.
In turn, Deputy Director of the Institute of Geology and Exploration of Oil and Gas Fields Mirgiyos Gaffarov said that now a new direction for study is the Surkhandarya region, Cretaceous and Jurassic deposits.
"This region has a great potential and resources. We are working on it now. Everything will be fine with reserves and their replenishment," Gaffarov noted.
