Uzbekistan is considering using air freight to deliver goods, with partial reimbursement from the state budget. This measure is aimed at overcoming logistical disruptions amid global instability. This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Norkulov following a March 30 meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Gazeta.uz reports.

"Considering the geopolitical situation, the level of uncertainty, and disruptions in supply chains, the president has given clear instructions to all sectors to work together and in a coordinated manner," Norkulov said.

GDP growth is expected to reach 7.5% in the first quarter, but the second quarter will be the key period. "The head of state emphasized that this period could be decisive for annual performance. He instructed not to postpone decisions, but to respond promptly across every sector and region," the deputy minister noted.

Anti-crisis measures include support for enterprises with reduced production volumes and assistance to districts where output has fallen by more than 10%. This was announced by Deputy Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Dilmurod Kasimov.

President Mirziyoyev also set the goal of keeping inflation within 6-6.5% and issued instructions on accelerating food imports, addressing logistical issues, and developing alternative transportation routes.

"If road transport capacity is limited, deliveries can be made not only by land but also by air—the state is ready to cover part of the costs, if necessary," Norkulov concluded.
