Uzbekistan has been recognized as the best country for tourism in the "Travel in CIS Countries" category, according to the press service of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, reports Ritmeurasia.ru.
Uzbekistan was one of the nominees for the Russian tourism award Russian Traveler Awards 2024. A delegation from the country, led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Abdusalomov, participated in the award ceremony.
"Based on the results of the competition, the expert jury of the National Tourism Award Russian Traveler Awards 2024, organized by the Russian magazine Russian Traveler, has declared the Republic of Uzbekistan the winner in the 'Tourism in CIS' category," the statement said.
Following the publication of the July issue of the magazine titled Uzbekistan - An Eastern Fairytale, which highlighted the country's tourism potential, interest among Russian tourists in Uzbekistan's attractions and culture has significantly increased.
It is worth noting that Russian Traveler is a Russian publication dedicated to promoting travel within the country and across the CIS.
