Against the backdrop of increased demand for gasoline in Uzbekistan, the Bukhara and Fergana oil refineries have increased gasoline production by 21.2%, announced "Uzbekneftegaz," Gazeta.uz reports.

To meet the growing demand, the average daily fuel production at the Bukhara and Fergana refineries has increased by 700 tons to 4,000 tons (with 1,000 tons at the Fergana refinery).

Additionally, the local company SDK Group And has increased the import of AI-92 K5 gasoline from Russia.

"Thus, an increase in the volume of gasoline sales in the domestic market, put up for exchange trading, has been achieved," the statement says.

Moreover, amid a sudden drop in temperature, it has been decided to double the daily volume of gasoline deliveries to the Fergana Valley - up to 800 tons. The majority of the fuel supplied to the Fergana Valley is produced by the Fergana refinery.

On December 11, 2023, 5,065 tons of gasoline were sold at the exchange, and on December 13, 3,005 tons were sold. Over the month, the exchange price increased from 6,334 to 7,525 sum (+18.8%), despite the excise tax reset.

Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov had previously stated that Uzbekistan plans to import 371 thousand tons of gasoline from Russia by the end of the year.
