Plans to expand the extraction and processing of minerals critical to industry, aimed at increasing the production of high-value-added products, have been presented in Uzbekistan. The country's President Shafkat Mirziyoyev has familiarized himself with them, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

To date, more than 30 rare metals, including tungsten, molybdenum, magnesium, lithium, germanium, graphite, vanadium and titanium, have been discovered in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan has recently begun to pay attention to the development of the mining industry, investing in the exploration and processing of such minerals. In recent years, the country has created the necessary organizational base to begin work in this area.

The Minister of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan Bobir Islamov presented plans for the next three years, providing for the implementation of 76 projects worth a total of $2.6 billion. These projects will cover the extraction and processing of 28 types of rare minerals.

Additional funding for geological exploration and research is planned to expand the raw material base.

Special attention will be paid to the use of modern technologies to increase the purity of minerals and produce products with high added value.

For example, processing tungsten concentrate from the Ingichka deposit can double the added value. Currently, 18 such projects have been developed.

The country intends to create technology parks in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions, rich in molybdenum and tungsten. These technology parks will develop the production chain "raw materials - processing - science and technology - finished products".

Following the discussion, President Mirziyoyev instructed to organize technology transfer, open modern laboratories and training centers for training specialists.

He emphasized that in the context of the "fourth industrial revolution", it is important to create a solid base for strengthening Uzbekistan's position in the rare minerals market.
