The state enterprise Navoiyuran from Uzbekistan has signed a contract with the Kazakh company TOO Logistic Centre for the transportation of uranium concentrate to France. The total amount of the deal is 9 million euros, Eurasiatoday.ru reports.

According to the terms of the agreement, TOO Logistic Centre undertakes to transport 500 containers of uranium concentrate from the port of St. Petersburg to the commune of Malvezi in the south of France. The total volume of cargo will be up to 6 thousand tons.

Deliveries will be made until the end of the first quarter of 2026. Each batch must be delivered to its destination no later than 15 days from the date of departure from the St. Petersburg port.

The transportation will be carried out in strict accordance with the Rules for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials established by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In addition, Navoiyuran plans to ship uranium via Russia to the United States and Canada and is currently looking for contractors to transport it to processing plants in these countries.

Earlier, Navoiyuran and the French company Orano signed an agreement on the exploration and production of uranium at the South Dzhangeldy deposit in the Navoi region of Uzbekistan.

These initiatives highlight Uzbekistan's desire to strengthen its position in the international uranium market and expand cooperation with key players in the nuclear industry.
