President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, expressed his country's intention to utilize the opportunities provided by the BRICS+/Outreach format, reports Sputnik Uzbekistan.
“We will continue to actively deepen partnerships with BRICS states and take full advantage of the new opportunities within this union,” Mirziyoyev stated.
He emphasized that economic and trade fragmentation in today’s world exacerbates inequality and technological gaps. The President noted that BRICS follows principles of equality, non-interference, respect for interests, sovereignty, and the right to choose an independent development path. Mirziyoyev suggested that such a model of cooperation could serve as a foundation for a new global order.
Uzbekistan aims to collaborate with BRICS nations in logistics and food and energy security. Mirziyoyev highlighted the importance of developing transport links, creating new transcontinental corridors, building reliable supply chains, and expanding coastal shipping. Uzbekistan also prioritizes addressing climate change, ensuring health protection, and strengthening food and energy security.
The President stressed the need to enhance business relations within BRICS and proposed allowing all interested countries to join the organization’s Business Council.
