Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held the fourth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Ankara. The main outcome of the meeting was the decision to launch a large-scale industrial cooperation program and the intention to increase mutual trade turnover to $5 billion in the coming years, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
By the end of 2025, Turkey has firmly established itself as Uzbekistan's fourth-largest trading partner, with a trade volume of $3 billion. There are already 2,137 Turkish-owned enterprises operating in the country, the majority of which are located in Tashkent.
Key Agreements:
Industry and Regions: The parties will approve a separate program for new areas of industrial cooperation. By the end of the year, delegations from all regions of Uzbekistan will visit Turkish regions to launch joint business projects.
Services: Uzbekistan plans to expand Turkish expertise in medicine, agriculture, and horticulture.
Security: The leaders agreed to strengthen coordination in defense and the fight against cybercrime.
Culture and Education: The fourth Rectors' Forum will be held in Bukhara this spring. Joint film projects and the restoration of cultural heritage sites are also planned.
The presidents emphasized their shared positions on global challenges, reaffirming their commitment to further integration within the framework of the Preferential Trade Agreement.
