The Uzbekistan Pavilion at the World Expo in Osaka has been awarded the gold medal — the highest honor in its category — for “Best Interpretation of the Theme.” The announcement was made by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, reports Daryo.uz.

The pavilion’s concept, titled “Garden of Knowledge: A Laboratory for the Society of the Future,” reflects the harmony between tradition and innovation and has resonated widely with the global community.

“I sincerely thank the entire team and our international partners for their inspiration, professionalism, and belief in this project,” Mirziyoyeva wrote.

According to the Art and Culture Development Foundation, the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) has been presenting this award since 1928 to recognize outstanding achievements related to the central theme of each Expo. The prize honors innovative ideas, advanced technologies, and cultural identity showcased by participating countries through their pavilions and exhibitions.

This marks the first time since Uzbekistan’s debut at EXPO in 1993 that its national pavilion has received a gold BIE award. The last recognition came 20 years ago — in 2005, when Uzbekistan’s pavilion won a bronze medal for Exhibition Design at the World Expo in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
