Visit of Chinese leader to Tajikistan concluded with signing of Joint Statement

The state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Tajikistan, which took place from July 4-6, 2024, has concluded, reports the press service of the President of Tajikistan.

As a sign of special respect and sincerity towards the distinguished guest, President Xi Jinping was personally seen off at the airport by the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. After completing a fruitful state visit, the leader of the neighboring country returned from Dushanbe to Beijing with good impressions of Tajik hospitality, reports Avesta.tj.

During the visit, high-level meetings and negotiations took place between the delegations of Tajikistan and China, a meeting of the heads of state and official delegations of both sides, resulting in the signing of 29 new cooperation documents, including an important document - the Joint Statement of the Republic of Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China on further deepening comprehensive strategic relations at a new stage.

A historic event of the state visit of the Chinese leader was the awarding of President Emomali Rahmon with the Order of Friendship of the People's Republic of China.

This highest award was presented for the first time in the history of Chinese statehood outside the country to the Head of Tajikistan for his valuable contribution and many years of support in developing and expanding good-neighborly ties and comprehensive strategic partnership.

In addition, as part of Xi Jinping's state visit, an important and memorable event took place in the capital city of Dushanbe – the opening of the new and majestic buildings of the Parliament of Tajikistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, which is considered a fruitful result of the cooperation between the two countries and the highest example of friendship and mutual understanding between Tajikistan and China.
