Chair of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan Baktybek Kudaybergenov met with a World Bank delegation led by senior public sector specialist and mission co-lead Grigory Kisunko to review mid‑year progress under the Tax Administration and Statistical System Modernization Project, Akchabar.kg reported. Project lead Apichok Kotikula also took part in the discussions.

The sides assessed results achieved in the first half of 2025, including implementation of an updated business‑process model, rollout of a National Quality Assurance Framework for Official Statistics, and streamlining/reducing statistical reporting forms across Kyrgyzstan.

Work is advancing on wider use of administrative data sources, strengthening institutional capacity in metadata management, preparation for the upcoming population census, and development of geospatial and environmental statistics.

The World Bank delegation praised the pace of implementation at the National Statistical Committee and said the project’s performance rating may merit an upward revision.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued, results‑focused cooperation. Kudaybergenov expressed confidence that the 2025 work program will be delivered with support from development partners.

The statistical modernization effort is viewed as a cornerstone of Kyrgyzstan’s national digital transformation—aimed at improving data quality, modernizing collection and processing methods, and building user trust in official statistics.
