Turkmen capital Ashgabat hosted the opening ceremony of the Week of Culture of the Turkic States, which is held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the International Organization of Turkic Culture - TURKSOY, Orient.tm reports.
Ashgabad is hosting artists from Turkic-speaking states these days. On the stage of the National Music and Drama Theatre. Magtymguly hosted a big concert in which masters of arts and popular ensembles of the member countries of the organization performed.
The guests of Ashgabat visited the State Museum of Turkmenistan, where they got acquainted with a large-scale exposition telling about the ancient history and rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.
The cultural program of the Week will continue with various creative events, exhibitions, joint performances, musical premieres and other events.
Festive relay started some time ago in Almaty, then continued in Bishkek and Tashkent. After the completion of the Week of Culture of the Turkic States in Ashgabat, events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY will continue in Baku, Istanbul and Ankara.
