In Kazakhstan, there were more than 44 thousand dollar millionaires in 2023, and in five years, their number could increase by 37%, according to the Global Wealth Report 2024 published by the Swiss financial holding UBS, reports Zakon.kz.

Six representatives from Kazakhstan are listed among the richest people on the planet:

  • Vyacheslav Kim - 511th place, fortune $5.8 billion.
  • Mikhail Lomtadze - 581st place, fortune $5.2 billion.
  • Timur Kulibayev and Dinara Kulibayeva - 612th place, fortune $5 billion.
  • Vladimir Kim - 896th place, fortune $3.6 billion.
  • Timur Turlov - 991st place, fortune $3.3 billion.
  • Bulat Utemuratov - 1238th place, fortune $2.7 billion.

The UBS analysts' report indicates an important development: the world has recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic, and the total wealth of households on the planet grew by 4.2% in dollar terms in 2023.

It is clear that this growth is driven by wealthy countries, but the trend is evident. It is noted that in 2023, the best living standards were enjoyed by residents of the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa - a geographical group and abbreviation used by global corporations to define regional business activity). There, the average annual wealth per adult was $166 thousand. Next were the residents of the Asia-Pacific region ($156 thousand) and the inhabitants of the two American continents ($146 thousand).

Switzerland remains the country with the wealthiest residents ($709.6 thousand per adult), followed by Luxembourg ($607.5 thousand). Hong Kong is in third place ($582 thousand), and the USA is fourth ($564.9 thousand). The United States accounts for 38% of the world's millionaires.

According to UBS experts, the United Kingdom is projected to lose the largest number of wealthy individuals over the next five years among all countries in the world. Their number will decrease by 17% - from 3.06 million last year to 2.54 million in 2028.
