Afghanistan plans to export national products to Turkmenistan

In the Afghan city of Herat, a meeting was held between the Consul General of Turkmenistan, Batyr Yolov, and the governor of Nur province, Nur Ahmad Islamjar. This was reported by newscentralasia.net with reference to Bakhtar News.

Nur province is located in the northwest of Afghanistan and borders southeast Turkmenistan.

The Afghan side is interested in intensifying cargo transportation along the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan-China route, as well as establishing the export of Afghan fruits, vegetables, and dried fruits to Turkmenistan, the governor noted.

Yolov, for his part, stated that Turkmenistan is ready to develop trade and economic relations and transport-logistics cooperation. In particular, the country will facilitate the daily passage of 120 trucks with commercial goods through the Turghundi border crossing. The Consul General emphasized that repair work at the "Nur ul-Jihad" substation has already been completed.

The Afghan side highlighted the importance of accelerating the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project. The governor also mentioned the need for a trilateral meeting with the participation of transport companies from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan to discuss cargo traffic issues along the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan route, the source notes.
