The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (NAST), Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, and the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan, Erlan Abdyldaev, discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation in research activities between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This was reported by the NAST press service following the meeting.

Strengthening Partnership in the Scientific Field

During the dialogue, both parties emphasized the importance of scientific collaboration to address common challenges and develop new research directions.

Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda presented the key areas of NAST's work, including priority tasks in seismology. He pointed out an acute shortage of qualified specialists in this field, which requires special attention and support.

To overcome this shortage, the head of NAST proposed organizing internships for Tajik master's and doctoral students at scientific institutes in Kyrgyzstan.

This initiative would allow young researchers to learn from the advanced experience of the neighboring country, improve their skills, and contribute to the development of science in Tajikistan.

Kyrgyzstan's Readiness for Cooperation

Ambassador Erlan Abdyldaev confirmed his country's readiness to promote expanded scientific cooperation. He stated that the Kyrgyz side is open to collaboration on joint projects and to supporting Tajik scientists.

Abdyldaev stressed that strengthening partnerships between the scientific institutions of the two countries helps solve local problems and fosters the region's overall development.

Prospects for Interaction

During the meeting, the parties agreed to further discuss initiatives that include:

- conducting joint research in seismology;
- exchanging experience and specialists between the scientific centers of the two countries;
- expanding educational programs aimed at training young professionals.

Significance of Cooperation for the Region

Scientific interaction between the two countries plays an important role in strengthening regional cooperation. Both countries face common natural and environmental challenges, such as earthquakes and climate change.

Joint research in seismology and ecology can significantly contribute to improving the region's resilience to natural disasters.

Moreover, the development of scientific partnerships helps strengthen cultural and educational ties between the countries, creating a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange.
