China will provide grants for the implementation of projects in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan announced, Sputnik reports.
This was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Minister Sarvar Khamidov and the Chinese delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the International Development Cooperation Agency Deng Boqing.
The parties discussed the implementation of projects using grant funds from the Chinese government, as well as the prospects for expanding bilateral financial and technical cooperation.
“The Chinese side highly appreciated the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years and expressed its readiness to further intensify interaction in the implementation of socially significant projects,” the statement said.
As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum was signed, which provides for the implementation of 14 projects totaling over $190 million in areas such as agriculture and water management, healthcare, education and institutional development.
