The demand for loans from small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Kazakhstan has increased significantly, the National Bank of Kazakhstan stated, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.

The National Bank of Kazakhstan published a report on the results of a survey on bank lending for the fourth quarter of 2024. It noted that the rise in SME interest is linked to the resumption of financing through state preferential lending programs.

"In the reporting quarter, banks introduced online products for small and micro-businesses, including installment plans for retail enterprises and products for individual entrepreneurs with simplified application procedures and attractive conditions," the National Bank of Kazakhstan stated.

Bank representatives also provided data on loan applications from individuals. Forecasts for 2025 indicate an expected increase in demand for auto loans. According to banking experts, this is driven by active marketing promotions from partner car dealerships and various special offers. Loan applications from medium-sized businesses increased by 2%, reaching 4,700.

"The loan approval rate for small businesses decreased to 33%, remained at 41% for medium-sized businesses, and increased to 60% for large businesses due to the financing of accumulated applications at the end of 2024," specialists summarized.
