Official representatives of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia continue to discuss projects within the framework of the "tripartite gas union", which involves the supply of Russian gas through the territories of these countries. This was reported to journalists by the Minister of Energy of Russia Nikolai Shulginov.

"Under discussion," he said.

Last November, Russia proposed to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to create a "tripartite gas union" to coordinate the commercial interests of the three states in this area. In January 2023, the ministries of energy of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed a cooperation plan with Gazprom.

In April of this year, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov announced that gas supplies to Uzbekistan from Russia are planned to be carried out through the Central Asia-Center gas pipeline.

The authorities of Kazakhstan are discussing the issue of transit of Russian gas through its territory to Uzbekistan.
