EDB to allocate $46 million to Tajikistan in 2023

The Eurasian Development Bank has decided to allocate $46 million to Tajikistan in 2023 for the implementation of investment projects, Ruslan Dalenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the EDB, said in Almaty, speaking on the results of the bank's activities this year.

A country strategy for Tajikistan has been developed in terms of cooperation and investment, Dalenov said. In early December, an agreement was signed for the implementation of investment projects worth $2.6 million. This is the first project in recent years.

The priority areas of cooperation between the Eurasian Development Bank and Tajikistan are energy, food security and trade, Dalenov stressed.

The EDB is investing 30 new projects in EDB member countries this year, Nikolay Podguzov, Chairman of the EDB Board added.

The total amount of projects will amount to $2.5 billion. This is almost twice as much as the $1.3 billion initially provided for, Nikolay Podguzov shared.

Currently known that the bank's current investment portfolio is $5.2 billion.

Podguzov also said that in 2023 it is planned to invest in new projects worth $1.7 billion. He also said that this year the bank has attracted investments of the same amount - $1.7 billion.
