Economy of Kyrgyzstan accelerated slightly

The GDP of Kyrgyzstan increased by 4.2% in the first nine months of 2023, totaling 808 billion soms. These figures are provided by the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, Economist.kg reports.

The growth rate of Kyrgyzstan's GDP has been increasing for the second consecutive month, following a slight slowdown in July 2023.

In January-September of the current year, the growth of consumer prices and tariffs across Kyrgyzstan reached 5.7% compared to December of the previous year, according to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

During this period, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 10.3%, non-food items by 9.3%, food products and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.7%, and tariffs for services provided to the population by 6.8%.

The prices of rice increased the most during this period, by 36.7%, followed by potatoes at 20.5%, fresh fruits at 15%, confectionery products at 8.3%, fish at 8.1%. Prices also rose for non-alcoholic beverages by 6%, pasta and other grain products by 5.7%, dairy products by 3.7%, bakery products by 3.6%, vegetables by 2.8%, meat by 2.8%, and cheese by 2.7%.

In 2022, Kyrgyzstan's GDP amounted to $10.3 billion, with a growth rate of 7%. However, inflation exceeded 12%.
