Georgia has dramatically increased its exports to the countries of Central Asia, especially to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. This is reported by the Georgian media with reference to the National Statistical Service of Georgia.

According to the Statistics Service of Georgia, in the first half of 2023 alone, exports from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan increased by 1360.1%, to Kazakhstan - by 280.4%.

In the total volume, exports to Kazakhstan amounted to 9.8%, to Kyrgyzstan - 9.2%, while two years ago Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were not even among the ten trading partners of Georgia.

The Statistical Service of Georgia also clarified that the growth is mainly accounted for by cars - at the same time, the fact that since 2023 Georgia began to export expensive cars to Kyrgyzstan is noteworthy.

In May 2023 alone, 1,288 cars were exported from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan, the average price of which was $42,000. In the same month last year, the average price of a car exported from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan was only $6.1 thousand. In total, in the first six months of 2023, more expensive cars were exported from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan than in the last 5 years in general.
