The development of a feasibility study for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway should be completed by June 2023, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev said at a meeting with Ambassador of China Du Dewen.
At the meeting, Torobaev proposed to resume work on the implementation of the agreements reached as a result of the business forum held as part of the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kyrgyzstan in 2019. Then 24 memorandums and agreements were signed.
“We are grateful for the assistance in the implementation, on the basis of grant projects, of the project for the construction of the diverting Chui Canal-2 (OCHK-2), which will increase the water supply to our irrigated lands. Construction work here is proposed to be resumed in the spring of 2023,” Torobaev said.
In turn, Du Dewen emphasized the interest of the Chinese side in increasing the supply of local agricultural products to the Chinese market, taking into account the demand for environmentally friendly products there. And she noted that the Chinese side is ready to assist exporters in creating favorable conditions for increasing supplies from Kyrgyzstan.
