The flow of tourists to Kyrgyzstan has exceeded 10 million people, which is five times more than in 2022.
While in 2022, Kyrgyzstan was visited by 2 million tourists, this year the tourist flow has exceeded 10 million, announced Minister of Internal Affairs Ulan Niyazbekov during a meeting at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Akchabar.kg reports.
He noted that the number of tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan is increasing every year.
"Tourism not only creates favorable conditions for economic development but also provides citizens with jobs, contributing to an improvement in living conditions," said Niyazbekov. However, despite the measures taken, we have encountered some problems that need to be addressed immediately. I instruct the relevant services to develop a comprehensive plan called "Tourist Security Strengthening," and local leaders should conduct a deep analysis of issues related to ensuring the safety of citizens during the summer and winter tourist seasons," said the head of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to forecasts, in 2023, tourism will contribute 7.0% to Kyrgyzstan's economy, with an inflow of investments into the capital exceeding 40.0 billion dollars. As part of the development of the tourism potential of the regions, there are plans to increase the number of economic entities in the tourism sector.
