Goods from Kyrgyzstan will be delivered to Russia via a new route through the Caspian Sea, the Kyrgyz Economy Ministry said, Economist.kg reports.

To optimize an additional route in order to develop trade, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Transport of Kyrgyzstan, together with freight companies, are working on a route in the following direction:

Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Russia (via the Caspian Sea from the port of "Turkmenbashi" to the ports of Astrakhan and Makhachkala).

To open this route for the delivery of goods, on January 16-17, four-party negotiations were held in Astrakhan with representatives of the authorized bodies and businesses of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

At this meeting, officials and cargo carriers discussed the organization of regular sea transportation lines between the port of Turkmenbashi and Russian ports on the Caspian Sea.

Members of the Kyrgyz delegation also got acquainted with the activities of three ports of the Astrakhan region: JSC "Astrakhan Sea Port", PJSC "Astrakhan Port", JSC GC "Armada".
