The total area of agricultural crops in Kazakhstan this year is 23.3 million hectares, of which 16.7 million hectares are grain crops. Harvesting operations have commenced in all regions of the country, reports Ritmeurasia.ru.
The harvest season in Kazakhstan is gaining momentum. Wheat has been harvested from an area of nearly 3 million hectares, with a yield of 15.0 centners per hectare, producing 4.5 million tons. Barley has been harvested from 926.7 thousand hectares, with a yield of 16.5 centners per hectare, producing 1.5 million tons. Oats have been harvested from 36.1 thousand hectares, with a yield of 15.8 centners per hectare, producing 57 thousand tons.
The harvest campaign involves 149.9 thousand tractors, 37.6 thousand grain harvesters, 14.9 thousand mowers, and 195 thousand units of other equipment.
In addition to grain, the harvest of potatoes, vegetables, and melons is also underway.
Meanwhile, the International Grains Council recently released a consolidated overview of global grain production. According to the Council's data, the wheat harvest in Kazakhstan for the 2024/2025 season is projected to be 15 million tons, reported the APK News agency.
Kazakhstan's wheat exports for the 2024/2025 season are forecasted to be 9.8 million tons, with the forecast being revised upward from 9.1 million tons.
