The information about the confrontation between the law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan, which appeared after the detention of the investigator of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Friday, does not correspond to reality. This was announced on Saturday at a government meeting by Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers - Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, TASS reports.

"I personally received a statement from a citizen that an investigator of the State Committee for National Security was extorting a bribe. The case was sent to the Prosecutor General's Office of Kyrgyzstan for appropriate measures. All statements that a showdown between law enforcement agencies had begun are untrue," he said.

On January 20, special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Osh detained an investigator of the State Committee for National Security at the workplace while receiving a bribe in the amount of $15,000. During the detention, a fight broke out between the special forces and special services.

"The situation with the detention of the investigator is a special operation carried out jointly by law enforcement agencies. No uncoordinated actions were taken. This is an attempt to clear the ranks of supervisory, law enforcement agencies and special services from unscrupulous and dishonest employees. The same situation with the detention of police officers and other law enforcement officers ", concluded Tashiev.
