WES24 dealt with a story that began as an example of the Kyrgyz economic miracle and ended as a farce.
We are talking about the holding "Heritage of the Great Nomads", which turned out to be "Horns and Hooves". Media publication Asia24.media studied the issue and compared the creation of a unique Holding with a modern form of deception.
Ostap Bender knew something like 40 ways to take money relatively honestly, Tengiz Bolturuk (the head of Heritage, who is now under arrest) certainly no less. The history of the holding, which, based on the initial declarations of its creators, was supposed to conquer the New York and London stock exchanges and compete with the securities of Berkshire and Apple, began in 2021.
Everything guaranteed success: a pretentious name, one hundred percent participation of the state in the authorized capital, the personal signature of the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country Akylbek Zhaparov - in a word, a company was born in the republic that was ready to turn over the entire economic map of the world.
The nomenclature of the activities of “Rogov…, excuse me, the Heritage of the Great Nomads” included a very impressive line: the development of the Kutessay, Taldy-Bulak and Andash deposits, the construction of hydroelectric power stations, the construction of industrial and processing enterprises. Involuntarily, another great entrepreneur, Alexander ibn Ivanovich Koreiko, comes to mind, he also thought big.
The state, represented by the Ministry of Finance of the republic, increased the authorized capital of the miracle holding to 3.4 billion soms (about $40 million), everyone was preparing to count the margin. Investors, longing for worthwhile projects, rushed like a river with their money-boxes (it’s a sure thing!), But bad luck: “we were ashamed in front of investors,” Tengiz Bolturuk told the Kyrgyz deputies, with pain in his voice, who decided to find out why “Heritage” rented an office for $50,000. - People of four or five people were sitting in a small office. Billionaire investors come to this company (sic!). They were sitting on a chair between two toilets.”
This is how it happens when you enter the office of a Kyrgyz company, and there, huddled tightly against each other, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Bernard Arnault and old Gates are sitting on wobbly chairs. And around the toilets - and silence! ..
Diamond hassle ended pretty quickly. It turned out that of all the legacy of the great nomads undertakings, the most successful (and actually the only one) turned out to be office rent and hospitality expenses, which, as you understand, was necessary in the conditions of billionaire investors.
The state nationalized the holding, returning the authorized capital (at least part of it) to the treasury. Tengiz Bolturuk is hatching plans to conquer the world of chistogan and capital, being in temporary isolation, but we believe in him. We offer some interesting business ideas for a second breakthrough: recycling of tar (you can call it “The Legacy of the Great Scythians”), building a small ground-based nuclear power plant from Pepsi-Cola caps (“The Legacy of the Great Jedi”) and, finally, processing beech chips into compact android robots ("The Legacy of Pope Carlo"). The main thing is not to stop!
