In Tajikistan, a tomb containing various artifacts was discovered during archaeological excavations at the historical site of Khalkajar, Asiaplus.tj reports.

Among the items found were ceramic pottery and a lamp, a weaving spindle, a bronze mirror, copper coins, iron items, and gold ornaments.

According to Mukhsin Bobomulloev, a leading specialist in the archaeology and numismatics department of the National Museum of Tajikistan, these items date back to the Kushan period (2nd century BCE - 3rd century CE) and indicate the development of pottery, copper, and jewelry crafts during this time.

Khalkajar is located in the village of Kizilkala in the Khuroson district of the Khatlon region.

The museum notes that the exploration of this site will unveil new chapters of Tajik history, making them accessible to both people and scholars.

In May 2024, archaeologists discovered the ruins of a castle in the village of Chinori Kuhna, in the Halif Hasan Jamoat of the city of Panjakent.

The archaeologists dated the castle to the 6th-8th centuries, noting that it was destroyed and burned during an invasion by foreigners, as evidenced by ash and soot traces on the walls of the memorial corridor.

Small items such as copper and silver coins, rings, and decorative clothing elements were also found at the site.

The monument is planned to be registered in the Registry of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Tajikistan.
