The XXIV session of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs will take place in Ashgabat. The forum will be held on the occasion of Turkmen Carpet Day, celebrated in the country on the last Sunday of May, Turkmenportal.tm reports.
It is expected that the forum will be attended by renowned carpet experts, enthusiasts of Turkmen carpet art, scholars, specialists, and representatives of carpet-making companies from various countries around the world. Vice Prime Minister B. Atdaev reported on the preparations for the events related to this holiday during a Government meeting.
In addition, on the occasion of the holiday, in recognition of their significant contributions to the development and improvement of the national art of carpet weaving, taking into account their many years of conscientious and selfless work, as well as their professional mastery, Turkmen carpet weavers will be awarded the honorary title "Türkmenistanyň at gazanan halyçysy" ("Honored Carpet Weaver of Turkmenistan").
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Vice Prime Minister to organize the celebrations for Turkmen Carpet Day, the exhibition of carpet products, and the session of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs at a high level, as reported by TDH.
