Japan interested in expanding financial cooperation with Turkmenistan

The Chairman of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Nobumitsu Hayashi, expressed the interest of Japan’s business circles and financial institutions in expanding bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan. This was revealed during his meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held as part of his visit to Japan, reports TDH.

The head of the financial institution emphasized the importance of many years of effective cooperation with Turkmenistan and highly praised the country’s economic policy. During the conversation, special attention was given to Turkmenistan's national development strategy, which envisions the creation of scientifically grounded industries and the introduction of advanced environmentally friendly technologies across all sectors of the national economy.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the positive experience accumulated through the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, highlighting the significance of joint projects with Japanese companies. At the conclusion of the meeting, he expressed confidence in the continuation of productive, mutually beneficial cooperation.

It is worth noting that the Turkmen President’s visit to Japan began with a visit to the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, where Turkmenistan’s National Day was held. Nobumitsu Hayashi specifically noted that holding this event among the first at the expo was a landmark occasion.
