Central Asia and Kazakhstan have faced significant challenges, stated the Chairman of the OSCE and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani.

Osmani held talks with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurteleu, in Astana.

The situation in Afghanistan continues to impact the entire Central Asia region, according to Osmani.

"The OSCE offers a range of projects in the region. I would like to emphasize cooperation in the energy sector, natural resources, and water resource management. Regional cooperation is very important in addressing all these challenges," added the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia.

Among other issues discussed during the briefing, Bujar Osmani touched on the topic of global security.

"The entire OSCE region is going through a very difficult period and uncertainty. Therefore, the war in Ukraine must come to an end. Once it is over, we can establish closer cooperation and implement regional countermeasures," Osmani added.

Climate change became one of the priority topics during the negotiations, as stated by the OSCE Chairman.

A special representative for climate change was recently appointed by the organization, and political support will now be provided for all OSCE actions in addressing climate change issues, he assured.

The Chairman of the OSCE highly praised Kazakhstan's reform agenda over the past few years.
