A Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction Olzhas Saparbekov held talks in Berlin with representatives of Deutsche Bahn AG, headed by Dr. Torsten Latz, Senior Vice President for Rolling Stock and Spare Parts Procurement, Tengrinews.kz reports.
The meeting, supported by DB Engineering & Consulting, focused on assessing the potential of Kazakhstan’s industrial sector and the certification requirements needed for domestic manufacturers to qualify as accredited suppliers to Deutsche Bahn.
According to PromMashKomplekt LLP, Kazakhstan presented its railway engineering capabilities, demonstrating compliance with European quality and safety standards. Deputy Minister Saparbekov highlighted the country’s focus on developing export-oriented mechanical engineering, industrial modernization, and the adoption of advanced technologies.
Two memorandums of cooperation were signed between PromMashKomplekt, Railways Systems Holding, and DB Engineering & Consulting. The agreements aim to promote engineering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and joint industrial projects that will enhance Kazakhstan’s presence in European supply chains.
The sides expressed mutual interest in long-term cooperation, emphasizing that successful certification could open new opportunities for Kazakh enterprises in the EU market.
