Kazakhstan has ranked 44th out of 217 countries in the World Bank’s Statistical Performance Indicators (SPI), improving its position by 21 spots compared to 2023, when it held 65th place. The news was reported by Kazinform, citing the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms (ASPR).

The SPI rating is compiled annually by the World Bank and is based on internationally recognized official sources. The index reflects the quality and effectiveness of national statistical systems, including data use, provision of statistical services, quality of products, data sources, and data infrastructure. Scores range from 0 to 100.

According to last year’s results, Kazakhstan’s national statistical system scored 84.9 points. The overall improvement was driven by higher scores in the components “Data Use” (+10 points), “Data Sources” (+10.2), “Data Infrastructure” (+10), and “Data Services” (+1.1).

Norway, Sweden, and Canada topped the SPI-2024 ranking.

Earlier, it was reported that Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev held a meeting with a World Bank delegation.
