The decision on Kazakhstan’s participation in the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland has not yet been made, but this issue will definitely be considered, said official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Aibek Smadiyarov, Tengrinews reports.

“Our country’s participation in this summit will be considered taking into account the schedule of international events and Kazakhstan’s official position on this issue,” Smadiyarov said.

He clarified that Kazakhstan maintains close political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations with both Ukraine and Russia. According to him, Kazakhstan always acts from the position of preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, as well as observing the principles of the UN Charter.

Smadiyarov added that Kazakhstan stands for an exclusively peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, which should be achieved in the context of bilateral relations between Moscow and Kiev.

A conference on resolving the conflict in Ukraine is scheduled for June 15-16 in Switzerland. Russia was not invited to this conference. China and Saudi Arabia have already refused to participate in the summit.
