Kazakhstan cooperates with Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan in elimination of emergency situations

Deputies of the Senate of Kazakhstan ratified two agreements with the governments of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations, Zakon.kz reports.

The agreement between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan was signed on December 6, 2021, reminded the Minister of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan Yuri Ilyin. The document is aimed at establishing the legal framework for cooperation between the competent authorities of the governments of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations.

"Taking into account the possibility of emergencies that cannot be eliminated by the forces and means of one of the parties, the implementation of this agreement will contribute to the organization of joint coordinated actions in the event of an emergency on the territory of one of the parties," Ilyin said.

Ratification of the agreement will allow:

- exchange experience in the field of forecasting emergency situations, preparing the population for actions in case of their threat and occurrence;
- train specialists in the field of civil protection in educational institutions of the states of the parties;
- provide assistance in liquidation of emergency situations on the territory of the parties.

In addition, the agreement will regulate issues on request for assistance and prompt response to it; simplified border crossing by rescue units and the conditions of their stay in the territories of states; import and export of life-saving equipment and equipment during emergency response.

The second agreement - between the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan - was signed on October 25, 2021 in Ashgabat. The purpose of the Agreement is to create a legal framework for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in the field of civil protection.
