Kazakhstan ranked 36th among the world's largest economies by gross domestic product at purchasing power parity (GDP at PPP). According to the Visual Capitalist analytical project, Kazakhstan's economy is valued at approximately $973 billion, Kazpravda.kz reports.

The total global economy by this indicator reached $219.2 trillion, with Asian countries accounting for almost half of global GDP.

China remains the world's largest economy by PPP, with an economy of approximately $43.5 trillion. The United States ranks second with an economy of $31.8 trillion, and India ranks third with an economy of over $19 trillion.

The top ten largest economies also include Russia, Japan, Germany, Indonesia, Brazil, France, and the United Kingdom.

Kazakhstan's Position

With an economy of $973 billion, Kazakhstan ranks 36th in the global ranking. The country is positioned between Singapore, whose economy is worth approximately $988 billion, and Romania, with $949 billion.

Kazakhstan also ranks alongside countries such as the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Colombia, and South Africa.

Economic Context

According to international financial organizations, GDP measured in purchasing power parity allows for a more accurate comparison of the size of different economies, as it takes into account price levels within countries.

In Central Asia, Kazakhstan remains the region's largest economy, significantly outpacing its neighbors in production volume and economic activity.

What is PPP?

Purchasing power parity (PPP) is a way to compare economies based on how many goods and services can be purchased within the country for the same amount of money, for example, $100. PPP takes these price differences into account. Therefore, it reflects the real size of the economy and the level of production, not simply the amount of money.
