The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Aibek Smadiyarov, at a briefing in the department, said that in 2022 the list of visa-free countries was expanded to 80 states, Zakon.kz reports.
Kazakhstan has diplomatic relations with 186 states of the world, and the geography of diplomatic relations covers 104 foreign missions in 70 states, Smadiyarov specified.
"In 2022, the list of visa-free countries has been expanded to 80 states for various categories of passports, including 26 states for general passports. Mutual agreements have been concluded with 9 new countries for various categories of passports: Maldives, Andorra, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Bolivia, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Albania and Belize. In addition, on October 12 of this year, a protocol was signed with Qatar on amending the intergovernmental Agreement on mutual exemption from visas for holders of diplomatic and special passports, which exempts holders of general civil passports from visa requirements."

He also noted that in order to create a favorable investment climate, enhance business contacts and increase the country's tourism potential, the government introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the People's Republic of China and India, which allowed citizens of these countries to stay in Kazakhstan for up to 14 days.
