Kazakhstan exported almost 6 mln tons of grain from 2024 harvest

Kazakhstan's railways transported 7.4 million tons of grain, including 1.6 million tons within the country and 5.8 million tons for export. The volume of exports increased by 53%, Kazinform reports, citing JSC "NC "KTZ" (Kazakhstan Railways).

Uzbekistan received 2.2 million tons of grain, marking a 34% increase compared to the same period of 2023/2024. Tajikistan imported 857,000 tons (a 49% increase), Afghanistan – 248,000 tons (a 36% increase). Deliveries to Iran surged 18 times to 700,000 tons, while exports to Azerbaijan increased 90 times, reaching 363,000 tons.

From January to February, 466,000 tons of flour were transported, including 314,000 tons for export.

According to NC "KTZ," in 2024, a total of 10.6 million tons of grain were transported, including 2.5 million tons within Kazakhstan and 8.1 million tons for export. Additionally, 3.2 million tons of flour were transported, including 817,000 tons domestically and 2.4 million tons for export, reflecting a 3% growth.

Earlier, Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor lifted restrictions on the transit of grain and oilseeds from Kazakhstan, which had been imposed in October 2024.
