According to the results of January-April 2024, the volume of railway transportation between Kazakhstan and China reached 10.1 million tons. This figure increased by 14% compared to the same period of the previous year, the Kazinform agency reports.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's exports grew by 21%, reaching 4.5 million tons.
Transportation through the Altynkol - Khorgos border crossing increased by 8% compared to last year's level, reaching 4.2 million tons. Exports increased by 42% to 1.5 million tons.
Through the Dostyk station, 5.9 million tons were transported to China and back, an 18% increase over the previous year. Exports increased by 13% to 3 million tons.
Kazakhstan intends to increase its exports of finished products to China by 2.5 times. This was announced by the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliev.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that China is ready to import agricultural products from Kazakhstan.
