Kazakhstan wants to use Pakistan’s ports - Karachi, Qasim, and Gwadar - for transit and access to the markets of the Persian Gulf, Africa, and Southeast Asia, according to information from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reports Kursiv.kz.
Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, met with Pakistan’s Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry. During the talks, the Kazakh side presented initiatives to connect the transport and logistics infrastructure of the two countries.
Kistafin emphasized that Pakistan’s seaports could become transit hubs not only for Kazakhstan but for the entire Central Asian region, providing access to key external markets.
Minister Chaudhry confirmed Pakistan’s readiness to cooperate with Kazakhstan in the field of transport and logistics. In the near future, the two sides plan to organize a visit of a Kazakh delegation to Pakistan to familiarize themselves with the infrastructure of the ports of Karachi, Qasim, and Gwadar.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Europe is prepared to invest €10 million in the development of the Trans-Caspian route, which connects China and the EU and runs through Kazakhstan.
