The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has planned an increase in oil and gas production for 2025, the ministry's press service reports.
An extended meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, where the results of the ministry’s work for 2024 were summarized, and key objectives for 2025 were outlined.
Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, stated that 2024 was a year of stability and steady development for the country's fuel and energy sector.
"We have not only achieved our set goals but also laid the foundation for future breakthrough projects aimed at ensuring the country's energy security," Satkaliyev said.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, oil production in 2024 amounted to 87.7 million tons. In 2025, production volumes are planned to increase to 96.2 million tons, marking an almost 10% rise.
The increase in production is expected to be achieved through the expansion of the Tengiz field and continued work at other major fields in the country.
Natural gas production in 2024 totaled 59 billion cubic meters. In 2025, production is expected to grow by approximately 6.4% to 62.8 billion cubic meters.
