Kazakhstan can export electricity to Central Asian countries, Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said, Sputnik reports.

Prior to this, a large mining farm in Kemin in neighboring Kyrgyzstan refused Kyrgyz electricity and said it would buy electricity from a Kazakh company.

Commenting on this message, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan spoke about the possibilities of the energy system of his country.

"At night, the Kazakh energy system has the ability to export electricity. We are ready to offer electricity to our neighbors, including Central Asia. We will proceed from the interests of the country," the head of the Kazakh Energy Ministry stressed on the sidelines of the government.

He also added that the reform of the electricity market is underway in Kazakhstan, and the single purchaser of electricity carries out wholesale purchases of electricity, including export and import operations.

Earlier it was reported that the shortage of electricity will grow in Kazakhstan. The deficit will reach its maximum by 2029 and amount to 5.5 billion kilowatt-hours, according to the analysis of the Ministry of Energy.
